1.

Our favorite meal
sliced and spooned on china plates
in our first new home.

2.

Quickly
I furtively glanced
At you in the corner.

Have you changed,
Or are you the same person
I tried to forget several
life chapters back?

3.

After he spoke
there was crisis. The new
perspective opened another path.
I could walk down the new journey–

But am I ready?

4.

The world won’t end.
Yet.
But the news is saying
that a transition is starting,
so all that we knew, what
sheltered us,
will shatter.

5.

She hid every flaw
from the public,
but didn’t realize
beauty lies in those
little cracks
that break through
the facade.
